What is the Scourge Walker PoE2 Duelist build?
Scourge Walker is the second developer-built Duelist setup GGG showed in the official Deep Dive: Cyclone with a twist, built on fire damage, self-inflicted fire from Sacrificial Flame stacks, and bleed scaled by fire instead of physical. Mark Roberts introduced it around 13:54 in the video with Oro’s Sacrifice and the Infernal Step skill. Like Bringer of Blades, it was presented without an ascendancy class. GGG did not publish numeric damage, gem levels, or full gear stats.

Which uniques and defences did GGG stack?
Mark built Scourge Walker around several uniques:
| Piece | Role in the demo (as narrated) |
|---|---|
| Oro’s Sacrifice | Heavy fire damage at the cost of physical damage; grants Infernal Step |
| Molten Tenet and Xoph’s Blood | Mitigate fire damage taken while stacking Sacrificial Flame |
| Core armour slots | Plain high-defence armour pieces to stack survivability |
| Blistering Bond (ring) | Lets fire damage scale bleeding instead of physical |
| Berek’s Respite | Turns Cyclone into a fiery vortex that interacts with ground surfaces |
Each Infernal Step use adds a stack of Sacrificial Flame. Using Infernal Step again while stacks are active makes you take fire damage, and Mark said the damage rises with more stacks, so the build invests heavily in reducing fire damage taken. At maximum Sacrificial Flame, Oro’s Sacrifice also grants Frenzy Charges, which feeds the blood-enhanced Cyclone loop described below.

What is the basic rotation GGG showed?
Mark’s spoken baseline rotation is short:
- Cast Infernal Step several times to build Sacrificial Flame (and frenzy at max stacks).
- Once you have a Frenzy Charge, use Bloodied Blade to enter Blood Stance.
- Cyclone while blood and fire effects fill the screen.
That loop ties Jonathan Rogers’ earlier Bloodied Blade and Cyclone in Sand or Blood explanations to Mark’s unique-heavy endgame variant. Mark did not specify exact timings or how many Infernal Steps equal “a few”; follow the video for the pace he used on stream.
Which supports did Mark add for more chaos?
After the baseline reel, Mark layered more supports on Cyclone:
- A new support (name not spoken) that makes bleeding enemies shed flesh chunks that explode after a delay.
- Fan the Flames for extra fire.
- Echoing Strikes, which spends all Frenzy Charges so the next Cyclone spawns many Cyclones (Mark noted excess frenzy in the demo).
- Infernal Cry because, in his words, “why not?”
GGG did not list support levels, socket order, or whether every support stayed on Cyclone for the single-target segment. Treat the extra gems as options shown in the same build video, not a final patch note list.

How does the second weapon set and parry fit single target?
For single-target pressure, Mark swapped to a second weapon set: a one-hand sword plus Runeforged Targe, which grants a special Parry that keeps your stance after parrying (including the dashing parry Jonathan showed in the parry guide). Mark wanted long Parry debuff duration, so he used a new sword base that adds base Parry duration and invested in Parry duration on passives for that set.
He also showed a new support that makes Parry apply Armour Break, and anointed Molten One’s Gift on the amulet so Armour Break makes enemies take extra fire damage. The spoken single-target loop: enter Blood Stance with Bloodied Blade, Parry (dash in while staying in Blood Stance), then Cyclone, using Echoing Strikes when Frenzy Charges pile up.
Mark did not read out the anoint cost, sword base name, or every passive taken for Parry duration. Those details are visible in footage only where the UI shows them.
Was this build ascended?
No. Mark stated both developer builds were not ascended, and ascendancy art was teased for Exilecon rather than applied in the demo. Compare the non-unique lightning showcase in Bringer of Blades if you want the other official Duelist endgame example from the same video.
